Jim, thanks for the kind words. I am indeed here in Tuscon. The Gems won both their games today, a great start to the tournament. It's very hot here. I'll post about my experiences when I get back. For now, here's the sign at the airport welcoming us. It was pretty cool to land and see this while we were waiting for our bags.

Yes. We live in Atlanta and really not sure how logistics would work. She plays boys travel ball in the spring and fall so she gets plenty of practice.

We are definitely coming to the Baseball for All Academy in Boston over the 4th of July. One question I have for you is how do you handle jealous parents on a team when a girl exceeds the talent of a boy? I have taught my daughter to deflect negative words however it is beginning to wear on her. Any advice. Other teams, parents and especially the umpires love to watch her talent.

You have offered sound advice and we have been doing this. Landyn is extremely focused, faith driven and proud to be a baseball player. She encourages her peers and is widely accepted among her team. She has the highest batting average, 2nd highest OB%, least errors, least walks and least strikeouts. Her talent is a true gift and we have taught her to love and respect the game and the people in it. Recently, we had a dad on "our" team whom we thought was a good person, write a letter to the board that he felt Landyn was getting more play time than some boys. He feels it is all about the attention. My husband and I shelter her from this kind of hurt.

Are you going to be at the Academy in July? Would love to meet you.
